LDRS, drag races and Crazy Jim on the Science Channel Hi ya'll,
for those interested check out the Science channel July 5, 9 o'clock.
You might see ole Crazy Jim and my 15 minutes of fame. They came to Wildman's house while we were building the Mega Darkstar and filmed the build and several other things we were doing.
Along with that, at LDRS we were in the sweet 16 drag race [ 7 inculding mine the" IVA gotta fly naked rocket", blew up at ignition due to faulty J-1999's], the N-10,000 drag race, in which I flew "The Tiger Terror"and the successful launch of the Upscaled Darkstar which flew on a O skidmark. All of which were also shot, along with the usual trash talk[ala big time wrestling].
Tim and I also did a 20 minute rocket build with foam and wire ties justt for the camera, then he flew it in the sweet 16 race. I did mention good old ICBM and all "the usual suspects" but who knows what made the cut.
8.5 second burn with 3 Cti V'maxx's to give it a kick in the butt of the pad! Went to 8,350 ft. 27 ft tall, 12in in diameter, weighed 275 and brought back on a sky-angle 20 ft chute.
The show will air 2 times in a row on the 5th and several more days that week.
I'll see all you" usual suspects" at the July launch. Can't wait to get back home after traveling over 7, 500 miles in this years flying circus.
Bringing the first 4inch Xtreme DarkStar to display and fly, along with a Wildman 3inch 2 stager.
