Freedom Launch 2010 is fast approaching. Plan on coming down to or up to Orangeburg, SC for the Labor Day weekend. We will have three days of rocket fun.

Saturday, 9/4 and Sunday 9/5 will be Tripoli Sport Launch Days, and a night launch will be held on Sunday evening. Sunday is selected so that fliers can visit the local restaurants of which many are closed on Sunday.

Flying will be from 10:00 AM until 8:30 PM on Saturday and Sunday, the Sunday night launch will be from 9:00 PM until 10:30 PM (night flight will have a 3,000' waiver limit, and each part of the rocket must have continuous illumination visible throughout the flight.

Flight Fees will be $10.00 per day for non-club members, or $25.00 for all three days. Club member fees will be $5.00 per day.

Registration will begin at 9:00 AM on Saturday morning.

Range Set-up will be on Friday 9/3 at 6:00 PM. Those assisting will be able to register at the end of Range Set-up.

A club work day will be held on Sunday, August 22nd at Danny Dempsey's home. We will begin at 9:30 AM. Main tasks will be checking out the launch system. We will also add a floor coating in the club trailer. If you need directions to Danny's send me an email.

The new club stereo will debut at the July Launch weekend.

The components are rack mounted in a molded Gator case. A Crown XLS 802 Power Amp, a Cortex MIX-R1U 2 channel Mixer, an SKB Drawer, 15 7/8" x 15 7/8" x 6" with full extension and a criss-cross 9 section divider, and a Monster Pro 900 Power Center with Clean Power, and multiple outlets. There is a few inches of space in the bottom of the rack.

4 New 50' long Speaker cables will be used to drive the 4 Radio Shack speakers that we already have.

All connections for the Mixer to Amp and Power will stay connected within the rack case.

To set up the system for use, only two Speaker Cables will need to be connected to the Amp, run to the first Speaker and the other two Speaker cables go from the first to the second Speaker down the line. One cord will need to be connected to the Generator. The Input cable to connect an iPod or CD Player will stay connected to the Mixer and will be in the bottom of the rack case.

A Thunderflame class will be held on Saturday May 15th at Burl's place in Newnan, GA. There are a few spots still open. If you've been wanting to take the class and live in the GA or AL areas, this is a great chance to act! See the side bar for details.

I will not be at the March launch due to Scouting activity. I will be at the April ICBM launch, and all ICBM launches to help anyone planning a Tripoli Certification Attempt.
