Freedom Launch 2010 is fast approaching. Plan on coming down to or up to Orangeburg, SC for the Labor Day weekend. We will have three days of rocket fun.
Saturday, 9/4 and Sunday 9/5 will be Tripoli Sport Launch Days, and a night launch will be held on Sunday evening. Sunday is selected so that fliers can visit the local restaurants of which many are closed on Sunday.
Monday, 9/6 will be Tripoli Research Launch Day. Only Tripoli Rocketry Association Members may fly. Commercial motors based on your cert level are allowed. Level 2 and 3 members may also fly research motors. See Research Launch notes down on page 6 of the Notes.
Flying will be from 10:00 AM until 7:30 (edit # 2 on time) PM on Saturday and 10:00 AM until 7:00 PM on Sunday, the Sunday night launch will be from 7:30 PM until 9:30 PM (edit # 2 on time) (night flights will have a 3,000' waiver limit, and each part of the rocket must have continuous illumination visible throughout the flight. Flying will be from 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM on Monday.
Flight Fees will be $10.00 per day for non-club members, or $25.00 for all three days. Club member fees will be $5.00 per day.
Registration will begin at 9:00 AM on Saturday morning.
Range Set-up will be on Friday 9/3 at 6:00 PM. Those assisting will be able to register at the end of Range Set-up.
A club work day will be held on Sunday, August 22nd at Danny Dempsey's home. We will begin at 9:30 AM. Main tasks will be checking out the launch system. We will also add a floor coating in the club trailer. If you need directions to Danny's send me an email.

Just chatted with Ed and we're entertaining switching the workday to Saturday, August 21st at Danny's. Please let Ed/Johnny/me know your thoughts on this one. We still need to see if this is okay with Danny.

I spoke with Danny and we are go for workday this coming Saturday, 8/21 beginning at 9 AM. Danny will have the tent set up for shade. I will bring along my pop-up and table also, and a set of taps/dies to run the threads on the pads and oil them.

We will be coating the trailer drop down door and floor on Saturday, using a light tan colored aliphatic polyurthane with rubber bits for traction / non slip surface. Two coats will be put down.
